David Takehara's upbringing, and coursework at WWU, has interested him in sustainability and how it can be seen in the electronics industry.  A culmination of this outlook has resulted in the development of an urban hydroponic system, Demeter. Allowing people in urban areas to experience growing their own food.

He hopes to start his professional career in the electronics industry with a company that focuses on developing solutions for the agricultural or marine sectors and advancing technology in a sustainable fashion. Interest in these two sectors also stems from his upbringing in the Skagit Valley area, being in close proximity to the farmlands and the Puget Sound throughout his life. David looks forward to applying his hardware and software development skills in a company with a similar view and mindset. One that looks forward towards a greener and cleaner future. One that wishes to connect it's customers to practical solutions that will improve their lifestyle and standard of living.

Through his experience at WWU, David has gained experience in prototyping, testing, verification, and the development of electronic circuits and software. This includes working to build sensing and power circuits â€‹for stand-alone hardware or complementary hardware for embedded applications. As well as working in interactive design environments (IDEs) such as MCUXpresso, Eclipse, and Vivado. Through his experiences in lab environments, he has developed an interest in hardware design and working with electromechanical devices.

David is experienced in working in a team environment and does not shy away from an opportunity to learn. He is excited to learn what it takes to succeed in an industry environment and to apply what he has learned throughout his coursework. He carries an open mind and strives to understand people and problems through listening first and speaking second.
