Air and Water Temperature Monitoring

Different air and water temperatures are optimal for each plant. To ensure plant health, for various plants, it is important for the hydroponic system controller to be able to measure the temperature of the air and hydroponic fluid.

Relative Humidity Monitoring

Plants in an enclosed space can be victim to root rot and other fungi if the humidity is too high. Likewise, with temperature, plants can have a variety of optimal humidity levels to grow in. For the plant’s health, it is important to monitor the relative humidity of the plant’s hydroponic environment.

Adjustable Light Cycle

Different plants have different optimal light cycles for growth. To allow versatility from this system, the light cycle for the hydroponic system will be set by the user.

pH Monitoring

t is important for the hydroponic system’s controller to know the pH level the hydroponic system is at any given point. pH content of the water used in a hydroponic system is very important to the plant's health.

Water Nutrience Monitoring

The nutrients for a hydroponic system can be measured through the electroconductivity (EC) or total dissolved solids (TDS) of the water. To ensure plant health, the EC/TDS of the hydroponic system must be measured and monitored.

Peripheral Control

To help aid growing needs, Demeter is set up to control a fan, several valves, and an air stone. The fan is included to help control relative humidity and temperature if places in an enclosed environment. The valves are included to provide pH up/down solution to the growing environment and nutrients mix. The air stone is also included to oxygenate the water which the plants are growing in and to help mix the pH and nutrients solutions.
